DIY Floral Appliqué Slip-On

One of my favourite things about living in a compact city like Hong Kong is to close proximity to everything. In fact, I use to walk from my old apartment in Taikoo Shing to Central, only taking one hour. In other words, your feet are more then enough to explore Hong Kong – just make sure that you wear comfortable shoes. As much as I love heals (and I reallly love heals), it’s a necessary must to have a couple of foot-friendly flats in your wardrobe. I came across these basic canvas slip ons in the market a while ago (only HKD20.00) and updated them by adding floral applique – making them perfect choice for city summer strolls and tanned legs.

Time: Maximum 1 hour
You need:

  • A pair of cotton slip on
  • Appliqué of some kind
  • Pins
  • Thread

  1. Position the appliqué on the shoes. Pin them on to the shoes so they are all in place before sewing them on.

2. Sew on the appliqué – watch your fingers so you don’t pinch yourself!
