One day – Day 15


Day 15, Wednesday: A Day in the life (include photos from throughout your typical day – this could be “a photo an hour” if you’d like)

Phew. We are half-way through the blog every day in may challenge now and I have to admit that I’m seriously loving my daily-blogging-time. Only me, my computer and my coffee cup. It also provides me with the daily structure and routine that I really need in the morning. What’s more; I have experienced a change in myself. When I started this challenge, I would fret over every single sentence, not comfortable in how personal or non-personal to be in my writing. However, as the past week presented me with a life changing event, it came natural to proceed writing in a more personal – perhaps more “serious” voice. This is new territory for me as I’m not yet comfortable to “completely” put myself out there, and typically prefer to write and portray myself in a more lighthearted or funny manner. None of this is related with today’s post, but still thought I would mention it in case there is someone else out there having the same experience. Move on> an ordinary day in my life as below:

  • I wake up around 8:00 PM. If I’m really tired  – which happens more seldom then often – I give myself the allowance to snooze for 15 more minutes.
  • After getting myself out of bed, I move directly to the kitchen to prepare my breakfast and coffee. Despite drinking Decaf, my morning coffee is holy. Tip! If you trying to cut out caffeine – try illy espresso decaf. You will not miss out on anything.
  • I get ready and typically head over to the neighbouring coffee-shop to spend the morning doing all computer related work; Preparing daily blog. Working on marketing materials. Emailing. Editing photos. Have one cappuccino. This time with caffeine. Don’t ask me why.
  • Around 13:00, I leave to buy fresh vegetables and whatever I’m planning for lunch. I’m trying to be healthy and therefore preferring to cook my own meals. Today’s menu consisted of fresh tuna, avocado and asparagus salad.
  • I’m using my afternoons’ for any creative work or appointments; drafting, sewing, sourcing, take photos, blogging. You name it.
  • I’ll try to wrap all my work around 18:00 PM to do some kind of physical activity ( I love the feeling after working-out). It can be anything as ambitious as hitting the gym (ViPR is amazing!)  to having a long walk by the harbour.
  • Dinner either in or out. Honestly, we eat out quite a lot but doing my best to cut down on it.
  • Relaxing time with my boyfriend. and computer. and tea.

Day 8, Wednesday: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.
Day 9, Thursday: A moment in your day (this can be just a photo or both a photo and words)
Day 10, Friday: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.
Day 11, Saturday: Sell yourself in 10 words or less
Day 12, Sunday: What do you miss? (a person, a thing, a place, a time of your life…)
Day 13, Monday: Issue a public apology. This can be as funny or as serious or as creative as you want it to be.
Day 14, Tuesday: Ten things that make you really happy
Day 15, Wednesday: A Day in the life (include photos from throughout your typical day – this could be “a photo an hour” if you’d like)
Day 16, Thursday: Something difficult about your “lot in life” and how you’re working to overcome it
Day 17, Friday: A favorite photo of yourself and why

    I didn’t see you mention work, are you a lady of leisure? Why do you do computer stuff at the coffee shop vs home where you can make your own coffee? Puzzling to us older folks. Coffee out is expensive , and you have to shower and dress to leave the house vs jammies coffee at home, lol.

      I completely understand your question. In fact, I too was puzzled how bloggers made a living so it’s not just a older folk phenomena ;).
      It probably didn’t come across in my post, but I was working full-time until very recently and now in the process of setting up a business. Which is 24hour job – so no leisure lady here ;). Regarding the coffee shop, I’m living in Hong Kong in a super-tiny studio of 25 sqmtr so frankly don’t have any space to work. I’m dreaming about a bigger place though….hopefully coming true in not too far future!
