Blessed.Lucky.Content – Day 16

Day 16, Thursday: Something difficult about your “lot in life” and how you’re working to overcome it

Picture 64878760

I’m sure that after writing this post, something really difficult will come smashing me down (knock on wood!). I could make a bare attempt and say that it’s unfair that my sister is 1.70 cm  including super long legs and I’m 1.56 cm without the long legs. Wait a moment – that is pretty darn unfair! What happened with proper and even distribution of genes?

With the exception of not getting my sisters legs, I have to admit that I’m right now feeling extremly blessed, content and lucky (knock on wood again!). I’m finally starting a small business activity – which is something I always wanted to do  but never had the guts doing – I’m healthy – I have a boyfriend that I’m crazy about and bunch of  beautiful friends and family – all who appreciates me the way I am. Cheesy. Yes. But it’s the truth.

It has not always been like this though. I have struggled A LOT at several different points in my life. For instance, graduating in 2009 after 4 years of study was a real nightmare. There was no jobs and I basically had to cut my salary expectation in half plus taking on a job I did not want. I was paying more than 60% of my salary in rent. Everything seemed hopeless and I felt quite bitter. While I did not understand it then, in hindsight I can see that whole experience contributed to something good. I stopped feeling entitled. I got more determined. I learned to only rely on myself for motivation. Starting at the bottom is perhaps not so bad after all. Remember – from there it’s only one way to go – and that’s up.

Day 1, Wednesday: The story of your life in 250 words or less (or one paragraph… no one will be counting your words… probably)
Day 2, Thursday:
Educate us on something you know alot about or are good at. Take any approach you’d like (serious and educational or funny and sarcastic)

Day 3, Friday: Things that make you uncomfortable
Day 4, Saturday: Favorite quote (from a person, from a book, etc) and why you love it
Day 5, Sunday: Publicly profess your love and devotion for one of your blogger friends. What makes them great? Why do you love them? If you don’t have blogger friends, talk about a real-life friend or even a family member
Day 6, Monday: If you couldn’t answer with your job, how would you answer the question, ‘what do you do’?
Day 7, Tuesday: The thing(s) you’re most afraid of
Day 8, Wednesday: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.
Day 9, Thursday: A moment in your day (this can be just a photo or both a photo and words)
Day 10, Friday: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.
Day 11, Saturday: Sell yourself in 10 words or less

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Just so you know, it took me 15 years to talk about it and it’s easier on a blog than to a real person 🙂
I love your positive attitude about starting at the bottom. It’s great motivation!
