Kingpins Hong Kong – A Design and Marketing Conversation with Bloggers
Three weeks ago, I got the chance to participate in a Blogger seminar held by Style by Asia at Kingpins Hong Kong – the premium boutique denim tradeshow. The organization hosts shows in Los Angeles, NYC and Amsterdam as well but their Hong Kong show is the only one of its kind in Asia. Kingpins is celebrating their 10-year anniversary this year so getting invited to this show felt a bit special.
I used to visit Kingpins during my days as a Denim Product Developer so returning as blogger and speaking in front of former colleagues and business partners – were both exciting and nerve wrecking. The show was held at the InnoCentre in Kowloon Tong where twenty-one top denim mills and jeans makers showed off their newest trends and innovations (more images from the show HERE).
Sandra, Managing Director at Style by Asia moderated the panel discussion “A Design and Marketing Conversation with Bloggers” where Shoebox-Living (myself), together with bloggers from the Style by Asia platform; Polina Shubkina from Polina and Skene and Christina Dean from Re-Dress participated. It was an interesting debate as all participants came with different experiences and point-of-views; my own as a medium sized Hong Kong lifestyle blog; Polina as a fashion photographer; Christina on how it’s for Re-Dress as an NGO to work with bloggers. Pop over to StyleByAsia to read the full rundown of the blogger seminar as well as the trends I spotted at Kingpins HERE.
